- My Story
We are undertaking the gargantuan challenge of the Mongol Rally which is a 10,000 mile drive, taking six weeks and passing through countries like Iran, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Russia and Mongolia. We will be camping on the way and driving a Peugot 205 from 1986.
Suicide is the most common cause of death for men aged 20-49 years in England and Wales,1 in 10 young people will present with a mental health issue and stopping the issue at an early age is paramnout to prevent its development. Research indicates that early intervention provides effective and long lasting change.
We are undertaking this challenge to raise money for a charity called Stem4 which does excellent work in stemming teenage mental health issues at an early stage. They focus on raising awareness, providing information about how to recognize the early warning signs and stemming the condition early on.
Stem4 promotes the development of good mental health in teenagers through enhancing early understanding and awareness, promoting shared early detection and signposting towards prompt action and intervention. The work they have done so far has been fantastic in developing two apps called "Calm Harm" and "Clear Fear", holding interactive conferences in schools and reducing the stigma around mental health issues.
